Gilbert Quélennec, Indications seulement
Un objet immobile au-dessus d’un jardin.
Un enfant le regarde.
Soixante-dix ans plus tard,
il retourne jusqu’au bord
et s’arrête au même endroit.
Les implications de l'intrication quantique
sur les communications spatiales
Dans la montagne,
une question.
Pas de fenêtre pendant le trajet.
Une salle propre.
Devant lui, plus grand qu’un homme,
presque rien,
une lumière par endroits.
Corps, combinaison, caisson.
Il demande.
Une lueur, puis une autre.
Parfois rien.
Parfois deux lueurs à la fois.
Il note :
indications seulement.
Capturée, dit le journal.
Volontaire, dit la voix.
Il est entré.
Il est ressorti.
Deux cent soixante mille récits.
Dans l’un d’eux,
un chien de garde
rentre à la maison
et ne veut plus sortir.
Il pleut sur la Louisiane.
Une lumière efface les phares.
D’un même arbre, deux écorces :
une noire,
une intacte.
Elles reviennent d’un laboratoire
deux ans plus tard,
sans un mot.
J’ai laissé le cheval, je me suis approché,
ils me regardent.
Entre les lavandes,
un homme se tait devant les gendarmes.
Il veut y retourner.
Les pompiers de Munich,
trois semaines derrière les mêmes murs,
puis la porte.
L’autre reste.
La baleine sait,
avant la femme,
qu’elle porte un enfant.
Une nuit, une grande forme claire.
Il a eu peur.
Il est rentré.
La prochaine fois,
une seule question,
fermée,
et attendre.

Gilbert Quélennec, Indications Only
A motionless object above a garden.
A child watches it.
Seventy years later,
he goes back to the edge
and stops at the same place.
The Space Communication Implications
of Quantum Entanglement.
In the mountain,
a question.
No window on the way in.
A clean room.
Before him, taller than a man,
almost nothing,
light in places.
Body, suit, container.
He asks.
One glow, then another.
Sometimes nothing.
Sometimes two glows at once.
He notes:
indications only.
Captured, says the journal.
Volunteer, says the voice.
He went in.
He came out.
Two hundred and sixty thousand accounts.
In one of them,
a guard dog
goes back into the house
and will not come out again.
It is raining over Louisiana.
A light wipes out the headlights.
From the same tree, two pieces of bark:
one black,
one untouched.
They come back from a laboratory
two years later,
without a word.
I left the horse, I went closer,
they look at me.
Among the lavender,
a man keeps silent before the gendarmes.
He wants to go back.
The firemen of Munich,
three weeks behind the same walls,
then the door.
The other stays.
The whale knows,
before the woman does,
that she is carrying a child.
One night, a great pale form.
He was afraid.
He went back.
Next time,
a single question,
closed,
and wait.
