Influence 14: Anomalies
Alongside my musical interest in known facts, I also work on the unexpected, the surprising (unusual), the strange, the invisible, the improbable, the impossible, the incomprehensible, the incoherent, the unthinkable, what reveals itself..
Anomalies in the environment (phenomena with strange kinematics, etc.), experienced experiencers, phenomena between the natural and the artificial, etc.
Anomalies in politics with, for example, algocrats who want to generalise AI in society, or the absence of an green politics, etc.
And other Anomalies..

Influence 13: Allan Holdsworth
I was intrigued when I read the big book with his patents and everything. He seemed to be a guy who was doing things, being really creative and it seemed he wasn't in the right time to be doing what he was doing. Although what he did contributed to everyone and everyone benefited, not many people actually know he was responsible for all the things he did. When I started working on that track Wardenclyffe Tower, I had this idea of Tesla in his workshop. So, when I finished that piece, I thought well, that would be a good title for the whole record." https://www.innerviews.org/inner/holdsworth-1
--------
What influenced me most about Allan Holdsworth, was his willingness to be free, to go beyond conventional approaches...

I gave an interview about Holdsworth's desire to go as far as possible in his improvisations: interview with Gilbert Quélennec on Allan Holdsworth's improvisations, in David Marnay's Guitare passion program, Radio fidélité, September 2019

Influence 12: Christian Prigent

After several years of looking for advances in physics that would interest me, I came to the Loop Quantum Gravity like others.
Rovelli's approach, which consists in describing physical systems in relation to each other, joins my musical thoughts
Several of his researches allowed me to go further in my work and can be found in some of my advances

Influence 10: Jean-Claude Risset
The music and research of the great Risset indirectly influence my explorations. I was lucky enough to have him visit me in 1998, and after some correspondence, we had a very interesting discussion about music and the history of science, as well as about what I call Elsewhere and Anomalies...

In recent years, there have been a number of scientific publications on archaeoastronomy.
I generally record music based on field work, but since my field is the imaginary, I take liberties...
I regularly evoke the link between music and the cosmos in radio broadcasts (Gilbert Quélennec, interviewed by Jeff Lagoutte, for his Flèche Sensible program (a radio program about creative music)).
This influence can be found in my project UniverS
to accompany this interest in the cosmos, I created a dedicated group on fb Musique et Cosmos
for music about archaeoastronomy, see Bandcamp: Gilbert Quélennec, musiques autour de l'archéoastronomie
The influence of his paintings can be seen in various experimental improvisations, such as the recent Lumières et Villes Submergées. Lumières and Villes Submergées (and some older ones).
His impulsive, self-reflexive practice could not but resonate with my improvised work.
His impersonal approach is also reflected in my idea of Assemblages impersonnels
I began reading and re-reading Jacques Bouveresse after the publication of his book of interviews with Jean-Jacques Rosat , Le philosophe et le réel (The Philosopher and the Real).
I integrate certain contributions of his philosophy into my sounds and texts, or use them in a musical way.
The importance of his philosophical research is at the origin of a blog about his work and a group on FB.
It was after reading a few articles by Inès Champey (Art Critic) that I took another look at the work of Saytour, Devautour, Piffaretti, Laurette, Rouvillois, Fraser, etc. (see Inès Champey 's publications).(consult Inès Champey's publications)
One evening in January 1994, I heard Bourdieu and Haacke on a television program (Pierre Bourdieu et Hans Haacke à propos de Libre échange , Le cercle de minuit - 20/01/1994), and I thought they had understood everything...
Bourdieu and Haacke can be found as influences in my work at l'Atelier, for example in the experimental improvisation Correspondances (directly related to sociology).
Much later, in 2007, I founded the Pierre Bourdieu network , a tribute to the virtual world of Second Life.
I keep coming back to Mallarmé's research, his “total theater” (1876-1877) and Le Livre (1885-1898), which helps me think ...
“Liber”, 2008)
It was while reading Anna Boschetti 's great book (La poésie partout. Apollinaire, homme-époque (1898-1918), Seuil, coll. Liber, 2001) that made me want to return to Apollinaire and delve deeper into the links between poetry and the other arts (e.g. Correspondance avec les artistes. 1903-1918. Ed. by L. Campa and P. Read. Gallimard, 2009)
Michel Décaudin has written a very useful Apollinaire (Livre de Poche, coll. “Réfèrence”, 2002).
